Terms of Use
These terms apply to your use of the MyTrip Builder website and app (together, the “Service”). Please read them. By using the Service you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. How we handle personal data is described in the Privacy Policy.
1. Who may use the Service
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. If you are under the age of legal capacity where you live, use it only with the permission and supervision of a parent or guardian, who is responsible for your use.
You may use the Service only in compliance with these terms and with applicable law.
2. What the Service is
MyTrip Builder is a tool for planning trips: it helps you organize stops, flights, hotels, costs, notes and files into a day-by-day itinerary, estimates travel distances and times, and lets you save and share your plans. We may change, add, limit or remove features, or suspend the Service, at any time, and we do not promise that it will be available without interruption or errors.
Beta benefits. While the Service is in public beta we may give members allowances, extra allowances for early members, for published journals or for benefit codes, and we may pause features when a shared usage cap is reached. These benefits and allowances are provided as a courtesy, are not a promise of any quantity or duration, and we may change, reduce, pause or end them at any time. Your current allowances are shown in the app on the “My quotas” screen.
3. Information, estimates and your own responsibility
Distances, travel times, arrival times, weather forecasts, flight details, currency conversions, place details, opening hours, emergency numbers and other information shown in the Service are produced from third-party sources and automatic calculations. They are estimates and may be inaccurate, incomplete or out of date.
The Service is not travel, legal, medical, safety or financial advice. Before you rely on any information, check it with the official source: for example entry and visa requirements, health requirements, opening hours, transport schedules, airline information and local laws and safety conditions. You alone are responsible for your travel decisions, bookings, documents, timing, safety and expenses.
The SOS page is a convenience and must not be your only source in an emergency. In an emergency, contact the local emergency services directly.
AI assistant. The Service includes an AI assistant that suggests places and day plans and answers questions about your trip. Its output is generated automatically by a third-party AI model. It may be wrong, incomplete, out of date or invented, including places that do not exist or have moved, opening hours, prices, distances and travel times, and it is not professional advice. Places it adds are marked as unverified until you verify them, and you must check every suggestion against an official or reliable source before relying on it. Use of the assistant is limited by a usage allowance that we may change, and we may limit or suspend it at any time. By using the assistant you ask us to send the trip details and text you provide to our AI providers, as described in the Privacy Policy. Do not type sensitive personal data, documents or details of other people into it. The assistant’s output is provided “as is” and, once you add it to a trip, it is part of your content and your responsibility.
4. Bookings, partners and third-party sites
MyTrip Builder does not sell flights, hotels, tickets or tours and is not a party to any booking. The Service contains links to third-party websites and services, including booking partners. Any purchase is a transaction between you and that third party, under its own terms and privacy policy. Prices, availability, cancellation terms and the accuracy of their content are their responsibility, not ours.
Affiliate disclosure: some of these links are affiliate links. If you use them to make a purchase, we may receive a commission from the partner, at no additional cost to you. This does not affect our obligation to describe the Service honestly, and we are not responsible for the third party’s products or conduct.
5. Your account
Some features, such as saving trips to the cloud, require signing in, for example with a Google account. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your sign-in secure. Tell us promptly at mytripbuilder@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorized use.
6. Your content
You keep the rights to the content you add to the Service, such as trips, notes, ratings, photos, files, journals and comments (“Your Content”). You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, display and process Your Content only as needed to operate, secure and improve the Service and to display content you choose to make public.
You confirm that you have the rights needed to add Your Content, and that it does not violate the law or anyone’s rights, including copyright, privacy and personal data. Do not add other people’s personal information unless you are entitled to. You are responsible for Your Content.
7. Public journals, comments and shared links
A travel journal that you publish to the shared journals page is public. Anyone can view, copy and share it, and we cannot control copies made by others, search engines or other services. The same applies to comments you post under a journal. Publish only what you are comfortable making public, and leave out private details such as exact addresses, documents or information about other people who have not agreed.
To keep the shared journals page useful, only a journal that meets the requirements shown in the app (a complete journal) can be published, one journal per trip, and a journal that copies content that is already published is not accepted. The first five fields of the journal details (country of origin, destination country, traveler names, overall experience and a cover photo) are required. Publishing is the only way to share a journal from the app, and it is final: once published, you cannot delete or replace the journal yourself, and a trip cannot have a second journal. We may hide or remove a journal that does not meet these requirements or these terms.
While publishing you choose whether your account name is shown on the journal card (it is not shown unless you tick the option; the name is taken from your account and cannot be typed in there). To have a published journal removed, or to correct what it shows, write to mytripbuilder@gmail.com. Removing a journal from the Service cannot remove copies made elsewhere. We may hide (freeze) a journal while we review it. Trips shared by an unlisted link can be opened by anyone who has the link.
Others can import your route. By publishing a journal you let other signed-in members import its itinerary into a trip of their own; this is part of publishing and is not a separate choice. What can be imported is only the route: the order of days and stops, place names, types, times and durations, and the location details of places you verified. Costs, personal notes, photos, flight numbers and bookings, traveler names and your original dates are not included, and an address that is not a verified place is left out. By publishing you grant other members a free licence to copy that route into their own trips for their personal use. An imported trip is a copy: later changes to your trip do not change it. A journal that is frozen or removed can no longer be imported. You can report a journal with the report button on its page.
Creator program. A member can apply to become a creator, or be invited; we approve creators by hand and may suspend or end creator status at any time, for example if a journal does not meet these terms. An approved creator has a public creator page and a “verified creator” mark next to their journals. They show the display name and short text the creator chose (public, and not required to be a real name), the creator’s level and the creator’s journals. The creator can see numbers about their journals: views, imports, and how many people who imported went on to open the flight and hotel search. A creator is not an employee, agent or partner of MyTrip Builder, and nothing is paid at this stage; any future reward would be set in separate written terms and is not promised.
8. Acceptable use
Do not use the Service to:
- break the law or infringe the rights of others, including by publishing unlawful, defamatory, hateful, harassing, misleading or infringing content;
- upload malware, or attempt to access accounts, data or systems that are not yours;
- overload, disrupt or circumvent limits or security of the Service or its third-party providers, including usage quotas;
- copy, scrape or harvest the Service at scale, or reverse engineer it, except as the law allows or as ordinary search-engine indexing of public pages;
- impersonate others, or post spam or advertising in comments.
9. Reports and removal of content
If you believe content on the Service is unlawful or infringes your rights, use the report button on the journal page or write to mytripbuilder@gmail.com with the address of the content, what is wrong and how to contact you. We may review reports and remove content, or suspend access, at our discretion, with or without notice, including for repeated violations. We have no duty to monitor content.
10. Our intellectual property and third-party materials
The Service, its design, texts, code and the MyTrip Builder name and logo belong to us or our licensors. We give you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive license to use the Service as intended. Third-party names, logos and map data belong to their owners.
Parts of the Service use Google Maps Platform, OpenStreetMap data and other third-party services. Your use of the features they power is also subject to their terms, including the Google Maps terms and the Google Privacy Policy.
11. No warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we give no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including about accuracy, completeness, reliability, availability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free, or that your content will never be lost. Keep your own copy of important documents and bookings.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we, and anyone acting for us, will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, bookings, travel costs, missed flights or connections, trip disruption, personal injury or property loss, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service or from reliance on information in it, even if we were told such loss was possible.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service, if any, in the twelve months before the claim arose.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, and nothing in them limits any mandatory consumer rights you have.
13. Your responsibility to us
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to compensate us for losses, claims and reasonable costs (including legal fees) that arise from Your Content, your breach of these terms, or your violation of law or of a third party’s rights through the Service.
14. Ending use
You may stop using the Service at any time and delete your trips and journals in the app, or ask us to delete your account at mytripbuilder@gmail.com. We may suspend or end your access at any time, for example if you breach these terms or to protect the Service or other people. Sections that by their nature should continue, such as those on content, liability and governing law, will continue to apply.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date above shows when they were last changed. When a change is significant we will make a reasonable effort to tell you, for example on the site. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept it.
16. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The competent courts of the Tel Aviv district have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute relating to the Service, subject to any mandatory rights you may have to bring a claim elsewhere under the law.
17. General
These terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service. If a provision is found unenforceable, the rest remain in force. A failure to enforce a right is not a waiver of it. We may transfer our rights and obligations in connection with a reorganization or sale of the Service. These terms are published in English and Hebrew; if they differ, the Hebrew version prevails.
