Updates
What changed in MyTrip Builder, newest first. The product is in public beta, so this page also says what is good to know while it evolves, and where to send a question or a problem.
October 2026
- 17 October — A limit on the length of a trip. Each account now has a number of days one trip may span. “My quotas” shows it, the trip wizard tells you before it builds a trip that is too long, and the main frame’s dates cannot be stretched past it. A trip that is already longer stays saved and can be shortened.
- 16 October — Descriptions match what you can do. The home page, the guides, the Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy now describe sharing a trip as a link (view only, full editing or group mode) or publishing a travel journal, and no longer mention PDF export, a standalone web page, or downloading a journal.
- 16 October — A simpler Actions menu. The testing, save, import and export items are now shown to administrators only. The reminders item reads “Enable reminders” with its state in brackets (active or inactive) and the menu stays open when you tap it, so you can see what happened. In Settings, a gear icon now sits next to your user.
- 16 October — A tidier record-edit window. Each group of details (location, arrival method, booking, travel journal) now sits in its own box under a heading, with consistent spacing. Place information now comes before your notes, and the sub-record buttons (in this window and the “+” on each row) were removed.
- 16 October — Travel journals on the home page. The home page now has a highlighted link and a section of its own for the travel journals, with what you can do there: read real trips, find a destination, import a route and publish your own.
- 16 October — Community founders and founding friends. The first 100 active members are now called community founders, and members invited personally with an invitation code are marked as founding friends.
- 16 October — Beta benefits, explained. A new topic in Help & Guide explains the allowances members have during the beta, how a benefit code is redeemed on the “My quotas” screen in the app, and what happens when a usage cap shared by all members is reached. Benefits may change.
- 16 October — Terms and Privacy Policy updated. The Terms of Use now say that beta benefits are a courtesy that may change, and the Privacy Policy describes benefit codes, the short source tag a campaign link can carry, and the public totals the website may show. The “Good to know” list on this page no longer states a fixed number of trips, because allowances can differ; yours are always on the “My quotas” screen.
- 15 October — Help & Guide. A new Help & Guide page explains everything the app can do, grouped into categories and topics: creating a trip, frames and records, places and routes, flights and hotels, the AI assistant, saving and sharing, travel journals and troubleshooting. It has a search box and two short videos that show the app at work. Help is also in the top menu of the site.
- 15 October — Feedback, one click away. A small speech-bubble icon next to the language icon in the top bar opens the feedback form from any page. The links at the bottom of the site are also split into two rows: the main pages first, then the beta, updates, press and feedback pages.
- 14 October — A feedback form. The new feedback form takes about two minutes: what you tried to do, where you got stuck, what is missing, your device, how easy it was to build a trip, whether you would use it for your next trip and whether you would recommend it. You can also leave your email to join our official group for news and updates about new versions. A “Feedback” link was added to the footer of the site.
- 13 October — The AI assistant in the legal pages. The Terms of Use now say that the assistant’s suggestions can be wrong or out of date and must be checked, and the Privacy Policy explains what is sent to the AI provider when you use it, that we do not send your email or account details with it, and that we keep only usage counts, not the text of your questions or answers.
- 12 October — Publishing a travel journal, simplified. A journal now reaches the site in one way only: you publish it, and publishing is final (one journal per trip, no deleting or replacing). The first five details (countries, traveler names, overall experience, cover photo) are required, the button that checks your journal now says what it checks, and the list of your published journals shows the trip name and the date. Importing the route is part of publishing, so every published journal can be imported. Your account name appears on the journal card only if you tick the option. The details window is also tidier: long notes fold behind “Read more” and the Share button comes last.
- 12 October — Filters and a trip summary when reading a journal. Above every shared journal, a collapsed “Short travel journal” menu lets you hide arrival-method cards, route images, check-in, check-out and transfers, and its Show summary button ticks all of them at once for a short view of the trip.
- 12 October — A full guide to travel journals. The new travel journal guide explains what a journal (or trip diary) is, how MyTrip Builder builds one from your trip, what is inside it, how to publish and share it, what makes a journal complete, likes, comments, and importing a route. The shared journals page now explains the term too.
- 12 October — Share and import from the gallery. Every card in the journals gallery now has a share icon (copy link, WhatsApp, Facebook), and journals whose author allows import show an “Import route” button that opens the import window straight away.
- 12 October — Sort, share and “Popular”. The journals gallery can now be sorted by most liked, most imported or most commented, shows the first dozen journals and loads more on request, and marks journals that readers like, comment on and import a lot as Popular. Each journal page has a Share button: copy the link, or send it through WhatsApp or Facebook.
- 12 October — Cookie choice. A short banner now asks whether Google Analytics may set analytics cookies. Declining works just as well as accepting, nothing on the site depends on it, and you can change your choice any time from the “cookie settings” link in the privacy policy.
- 12 October — Jump to the comments. The comments counter under each journal card in the gallery is now a link that opens that journal and scrolls straight to its comments.
- 12 October — A strip under every journal card. In the journals gallery each card now has a separate strip below it showing the number of comments, how many travelers imported the trip, and likes. Signed-in travelers can like a journal with one tap. Journals by verified creators show a creator badge, and highlighted journals get a gold frame and appear first.
- 10 October — Import a trip from a travel journal. When an author allows it (a tick box when publishing, off by default, and they can switch it off later), an approved journal shows an “Import to my trip” button. Pick the day your trip starts and the route lands in your account as a new trip: the order of days and stops, place names, types and times, with places the author verified already verified. Costs, personal notes, photos, flight numbers and bookings, traveler names and the original dates are never copied. There is a monthly limit on imports (shown in “My quotas”), and the trip also counts toward your trip limit. The new trip links back to the journal it came from.
- 10 October — Traveler level. A complete travel journal that was approved (7 days after publishing) earns points, and points raise your level: Certified Traveler, Guide, Ambassador. The level shows as a badge next to your name in the app and at the top of your public journals. Only the level is shown, never your name. A journal that is frozen or removed stops counting.
- 10 October — Credits in “My quotas”. An approved travel journal also adds credit to your allowance (extra place searches for a few months and an extra trip slot). The page lists your active credits and when each one ends, and shows your level and how far the next one is.
- 9 October — Place information has its own spot. The description the AI adds to a place (and the suggested area of a stay) used to be written into your notes. It now appears as an “i” icon right after the place type, for example “Point of interest (archaeological site) ⓘ” (tap it on a phone to see it; no data, no icon), and your personal notes stay yours. Trips you already saved are moved over automatically.
- 9 October — The ☰ icons are back in English too. On the phone toolbar the “Settings” and “Actions” buttons show their icon in English as well, at their original size; only very small phones (360px wide or less) get slightly narrower buttons.
- 9 October — Beta and the version line up with the logo. In the app header on phones, the Beta badge and version number now start on the same vertical line as the logo icon, at its left edge.
- 9 October — The ☰ icons are back on the phone toolbar in Hebrew. The “Settings” and “Actions” buttons show their icon again, at their original size. Only the English toolbar is slightly more compact, so it stays on one row.
- 9 October — “Verify locations” covers every place. The strip above each day, and “Verify all places in the trip” in the Actions menu, now include every place that is not verified yet, not only the ones added by the AI.
- 9 October — One place to book: “Book flights, hotels & attractions”. The “Recommended planning sites” menu is gone: its sites (TripAdvisor, Google Travel, Google Maps, Waze, OpenTable, TheFork) now sit in the same window as the flight, hotel and attraction providers, and the window was renamed. Providers that are partners of MyTrip Builder are marked with a green check.
- 9 October — The phone header stays two rows tall in English too. The row with Settings, alerts, undo/redo and Actions no longer wraps onto a second line when the app is in English.
- 9 October — A tidier warning for unverified places. The strip above a day with places that are not verified is now a single line: how many, and a “Verify locations” button.
- 9 October — The “Saved” message sits at the bottom. On phones, the brief “Saved” and “Saving failed” messages now appear as a small bubble at the bottom of the screen instead of over the trip.
- 9 October — Flight reminders show the airport you leave from. The check-in, “head to the airport”, “arrive at the airport” and boarding reminders now name only the departure airport, so the outbound flight can no longer look like the return one.
- 9 October — A simpler trip wizard. The wizard no longer asks for a budget level, interests, accommodation preferences or trip pace. “Number of hotels” is now “Number of places to stay”, and the note about picking dates sits right under the dates field.
- 9 October — A more compact header on phones. The header is now two rows instead of three. Your name, the sign-in button and the language switch moved to the top of the Settings menu, and “Saved” appears briefly under the header.
- 9 October — Alerts for things that already happened clear themselves. Reminders for a flight that has taken off, or an activity that is long over, now move to “Done” on their own instead of staying red and coloring the bell.
- 9 October — Unverified places are flagged as a warning. When a day has places that were added but not verified on the map, the strip above that day now shows a red warning triangle, like the other warnings in the app, instead of a soft blue note.
- 9 October — The summary under a hotel is named for what it covers. Under each hotel frame the summary box now reads “Hotel frame summary” instead of “Trip summary”.
- 9 October — The “trip loaded” notice closes by itself. The message that says which version of the trip was loaded and from which device now disappears after 30 seconds.
- 7 October — Planning progress in the alerts. The system alerts now show how far your planning is, as counts with a bar: locations verified (for example 5/9), flights defined (2/2), hotels defined (2/3) and daily routes planned (7/9). Each line moves to “done” when it is complete, and the same box is at the top of the Reminders & Alerts page.
- 7 October — Flight reminders show the whole route. A check-in or “head to the airport” reminder used to show only the airport where the flight lands, which made the outbound flight look like the return one. It now shows where from and where to, for example “(TLV) Ben Gurion Airport → (FCO) Fiumicino Airport”.
- 7 October — An easier way into “My quotas”. In your account window the page now has its own compact, highlighted button, with the name of your current plan and a mark when a limit is close or full.
- 7 October — The AI assistant allowance in numbers. “My quotas” shows your monthly AI allowance in tokens, like the map searches: how many you used, about how many are left, a usage bar and when it resets, and you can ask for a larger one.
- 7 October — Clearer numbers. Every limit now reads like “81 of 100 searches used · 19 left”, and the numbers no longer appear in the wrong order in Hebrew.
- 7 October — A “My quotas” page. Open it from your account button to see, in one place, how many trips you have saved, how many map searches you have used this month and how much of the AI assistant allowance is left, each with a bar and the date it resets. A bar turns amber near the limit and red when it is full.
- 7 October — Ask for more, inside the app. If a limit is not enough, send a request from the same page with a short note about why; you can follow its status and the answer on the page.
- 6 October — A green mark before verified places (phone). A place whose location was found and confirmed on the map now has a small green check before its name. Tap it to see what it means.
- 6 October — Tap to see the explanations on a phone. The notes a mouse shows on hover (a warning under a place name, why a time looks the way it does, a place note) now open with a tap on touch screens, and close with a tap anywhere else.
- 6 October — Find a restaurant from the booking suggestions. Pick where to search (a city of your trip, a place from your trip, or your current location), choose a kind of food, and the search opens in Google Maps.
- 6 October — Add the restaurant you chose to your trip. The restaurant search in the booking suggestions now explains the steps: open Google Maps, pick a restaurant and copy its name, come back, press Add a restaurant to the trip, choose the day, the meal and where it goes, paste the name, and the app looks the place up and verifies it for you.
- 6 October — The Shared Journals page menu matches the rest of the site. It has the same links as the other pages, shows the site version under the logo, and the language icon has more room.
- 6 October — Each record is its own card (desktop). Records in the table are no longer joined to each other: every record has its own frame, with a small gap between them.
- 6 October — A shorter header (desktop). The language switch and your account button moved up next to the help button, which saves a whole row. The Beta tag and version line up under the logo.
- 6 October — A clearer stay column. The stay time is shown briefly (for example “2 h”) in a slightly wider column.
- 5 October — A tidier site menu. On desktop, Solution, Trip wizard, Capabilities, How it works and Who it’s for are now one “MyTrip Builder” drop-down. The language switch is a small icon, and the Beta tag and version line up under the logo.
- 5 October — The sharing description matches the app. A trip can be shared as a link (view only, full editing or group), as a standalone web page or as a printable PDF.
- 5 October — You can see that your trip was saved. Every time the trip is saved to your account, a small “Saved 19:24” mark appears in the header. If a save fails, it says so and tries again on its own. Changes to the pre-flight checklist and attached files are now saved too.
- 5 October — A record that runs past midnight stays on its day. An evening out that ends at 00:45, with the ride back to the hotel after it, is no longer flagged as “not in chronological order”, and “Sort by time” keeps it at the end of that day.
- 5 October — The trip wizard (“No plan yet”) is easier to fill in. The page is split into Origin details, Destination details and Trip details, exact dates are the default, and common choices (moderate budget, food, nature, shopping and wellness, a hotel, a rental car, a balanced pace) are already selected, so you only change what you want.
- 5 October — Number of hotels. Choose how many hotels the trip has (two by default). Each destination you list gets its own hotel, and the nights are shared out evenly between them.
- 5 October — A trip template. The wizard now creates a template: flights, transfers, a frame and check-in/out for each hotel, and a blank day for every date, ready for you to fill in. The button is now called “Create a trip template”.
- 5 October — Rental car. When a rental car is selected, the template gets a “Rental car pick-up” entry (90 minutes) and a “Rental car return” entry (60 minutes) at the destination airport, and every leg between them is marked as a rental car instead of a taxi. The travel mode is now called “Rental car”.
- 5 October — A reminder that it is only a template. After the wizard creates the template, a message explains that the flights, hotels and times are default values, and offers to go straight to the flight and hotel search or to the trip update wizard to enter the real details.
- 5 October — The next step is shown for you. After the template is created, the “Actions” button blinks red, and inside the menu the next action blinks: first “Check flights, hotels & attractions”, then “Update trip details”. The message also tells you where to find them.
- 5 October — Removed the flight-options button and the notes box from this page.
- 3 October — One published journal per trip. Each trip can have one published journal, instead of a limit of three journals per account. To publish a new journal for a trip, delete its existing one first (a journal confirmed as complete cannot be deleted from the app).
- 3 October — Only a complete journal can be published. Before you publish, the journal dialog lists what makes a journal complete: at least 3 days with at least 4 stops each, a written overall experience of 150+ characters, five stops with a personal note and a rating, and a cover photo. A journal that does not meet them cannot be published, and neither can content that is already published. A journal that stays published for 7 days is confirmed as complete; a confirmed journal can no longer be deleted from the app (write to us to remove it).
- 3 October — Every trip saves automatically as its own trip in your account, including right away when you switch to another tab or app. Starting or importing another trip never overwrites the one you had open.
- 3 October — A clear message when you are not signed in: a banner says the trip is not being saved, with a button to sign in.
- 3 October — The “Save to file” and “Save trip by name” entries were removed from the actions menu, because trips are saved to your account. Loading a saved trip and importing from a file still work.
- 3 October — Fixed the logo being cut off in the app header on phones.
- 3 October — This public beta page and a “Send feedback” button in the actions menu, which starts an email with your app version filled in.
- 3 October — A press kit with descriptions, key facts, logos and new screenshots.
- 3 October — Three new destination guides: Japan in 7 days, Paris in 3 days, and Lisbon and Porto in 6 days.
- 1 October — Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
September 2026
Good to know during the beta
- The number of trips an account can keep in the cloud is limited, and so are map searches and the AI assistant each month. Your allowances are shown on the “My quotas” screen in the app. To start a new trip once you reach the trip limit, delete a trip you no longer need.
- Place search relies on third-party map services that have monthly usage limits. When a limit is reached the app tells you and switches to a search based on OpenStreetMap, without the Google preview.
- Distances, travel times and other information are estimates. Check flights, opening hours and entry rules with the official source. The Terms of Use describe this in full.
