Getting started
What the app does, how to sign in and how to begin a trip.
What MyTrip Builder is and how it is built
MyTrip Builder keeps your whole trip in one place: flights, hotels, transfers, attractions, restaurants, costs, files and reminders, with real travel times between every stop.
The app has two layers:
- Frames are the containers: the whole trip, a single hotel or a flight leg. A frame can hold sub-frames.
- Records are what happens inside a frame, day by day: a flight, a check-in, an attraction, a meal, a ride and more.
The easy way to begin is the Trip Wizard: answer a few questions and it builds a full skeleton for you. See “Creating a trip”. For a short product overview: What is MyTrip Builder.
Signing in, guest mode and your account
You can start building a trip without signing in, but then the trip is not saved: it is lost when you close the page, and a banner reminds you. A guest can create up to 15 top-level records.
- Sign-in is with a Google account. On a computer the sign-in button is at the top of the screen; on a phone it is in the “Settings” menu.
- Once signed in, every trip is saved to the cloud automatically and can be opened from any device.
- By signing in you accept the Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy.
- The button reads “Sign out” when you are signed in, and you can switch language at any time.
Ways to start a trip
- The Trip Wizard (Actions ← Trip Wizard): a short questionnaire that creates frames, flights and hotels. The recommended way.
- Build by hand: create a frame (Actions ← New frame), add a day and add records.
- Import from Google Maps: paste a link to a route or a place and turn it into records.
- Import from a travel journal: every shared journal on the site has an “Import route” button that opens the route as a new trip.
Starting a new trip always creates a separate trip; it never overwrites an existing trip in your account.
Language and the opening animation
- The app is available in Hebrew (right to left) and English. The language button is at the top of the screen, and on a phone it is in the “Settings” menu.
- A short opening animation plays when you enter. You can turn it off in “Settings” ← “Disable the opening animation”.
- The website and pages like this one are available in both languages, each at its own address.
Help inside the app
- Help center: the help button at the top of the screen opens topics with a short explanation and a way to read more.
- Small question marks next to categories in the “Actions” and “Settings” menus open a short explanation of that category.
- Send feedback: in the “Actions” menu ← Tools, it starts an email with your app version. You can also fill in the feedback form on the site.
Creating a trip
The wizard, the trip template, updating details, importing a route and shifting dates.
The Trip Wizard, step by step
Open it from Actions ← Trip Wizard. If you already have an active trip, the wizard starts a new, separate trip and leaves the existing one exactly as it is.
- The first screen: whether you have a trip plan. If you do, enter the trip name, destinations (separated by commas), number of travelers, exact or approximate dates, number of places to stay, preferred transport and notes.
- Create trip template: a button that builds the trip straight away from those details (see “The trip template”).
- Or press “Next” to set things up by hand: international flights (how many, dates, flight numbers, origin and destination airports), domestic flights (with a round-trip option) and hotels (name, alias, check-in and check-out, booking link).
- For each flight you can tick adding a transfer record to and from the airport, and for each hotel (except the last) a transfer to the next hotel.
- Create trip: it creates a main frame, a frame for the international flights and a separate frame for each hotel, with the records placed by the dates you entered.
The “Detect my location and origin airport” and “Detect destination airport” buttons fill in the airports; your location is used only after you allow it in the browser.
The trip template
The “Create trip template” button builds a whole trip from just destinations and dates:
- At least one place to stay per destination. The nights are split evenly between them (the remainder goes to the first hotels), and the hotel frames are named “Hotel N (city)”.
- Outbound and return flights, home-to-airport transfers and check-in and check-out records.
- If you chose a rental car: a “Rental car pick-up” record after landing and a “Rental car return” before the flight back, and every ride in between is marked as a rental car.
Afterwards a window makes clear: this is a template only. The flights, hotels and times are default values, not real details. From the window you can go to the flight and hotel search or to updating the trip details. When you close it the “Actions” button blinks red, and inside it the recommended next step: first “Book flights, hotels, attractions” and then “Update trip details”.
Updating the trip details (real flights and hotels)
Actions ← Update trip details opens the wizard in edit mode, with the trip’s current details. It updates flights and hotels in place (by order and date) and does not delete and recreate them, so what you added to the records is kept.
- Enter real hotel names, flight numbers and dates.
- Afterwards it is worth verifying locations (see “Places, maps and routes”) and recalculating routes.
Importing a route from Google Maps
- Plan a route with several stops in Google Maps and press Share ← Copy link, or copy a link to a single place.
- In the app: Actions ← Import from Google Maps and paste the link.
- Press “Parse”. A route becomes several “Attraction” records and a single place becomes one.
- Press “Create records”.
Shortened links (maps.app.goo.gl) are expanded automatically. If that did not work, open the link in the browser, copy the full address from the address bar (it starts with google.com/maps) and paste that instead.
Shifting the trip dates
Actions ← Shift trip dates: choose a new start date and every date in the trip (flights, hotels, transfers and all other records) moves together by the same number of days.
Times, prices and verified places do not change. Useful when you move a trip you prepared in advance to other dates.
Frames, days and records
How the trip is built, and how to edit each part of it.
Frames
A frame is a container for a trip, a hotel or a flight. A main frame (the whole trip) can hold sub-frames.
- Frame type: basic, trip, flight or hotel. Trip, flight and hotel frames get a special header with an icon, date badges and the total days, and a hotel also shows its city.
- Creating: Actions ← New frame, or “Add sub-frame” from inside a frame. You can also add a frame above or below an existing date.
- Cost on a hotel frame: you can set an overall cost and currency (for example a bundled booking price). It is included in the trip total.
- Automatic suggestion: if there are flights without a frame, a suggestion appears to create a trip frame automatically.
- Deleting: two options, delete the frame only (its content moves to the parent frame) or delete the frame and everything in it.
- Date rules: a frame’s date range must include everything inside it and sit within the range of the frame that contains it.
Days
- Adding a day: the “+ Day” button opens a window with a date and the option to add records to the day automatically: a hotel, transport and a point of interest. You can pick a saved hotel or one from the trip’s hotels.
- Moving a day between frames: drag the day (the drag handle) to another frame, or drop it in the “drop here” area to take it out of its frame.
- Day statistics: under the day heading you see the number of places visited, route kilometres and walking kilometres.
- Chronological order: if the records in a day are not in time order, a warning appears with a “Sort by time” button.
Records and record types
Every record is an activity, a ride or a stay, and has a type with an icon, a colour and the relevant fields (for example a hotel or an attraction does not need an “origin”).
- Adding: the “+ Record” button inside a day. You can also add a sub-record.
- Changing the type: click the record’s icon and choose from the list.
- Categories: general, public transport, road, sea and air transport, accommodation, activities, culinary, entertainment and other.
- A custom type: Settings menu ← Add type. Choose a name, an icon and a colour.
- There are “description” types (what you do, like an attraction or a restaurant) and “arrival method” types (how you get there, like walking, a car or a train).
The record card (phone view)
Most records are shown as a pair of cards:
- The arrival card (top): departure and arrival time, the arrival method (icon and colour by category) and a distance or a route link. Records without a meaningful journey, like a hotel check-in, show only the location card.
- The location card (bottom): the record type (an icon in a coloured frame) and the destination name. A green tick before the name means the place is verified, and an i icon shows information about the place.
- The drag handle (⠿) in the corner moves the record within the day.
- The “Stay” tag under the location card is editable and sets how long you stay at the destination. It affects the start time of the next record.
- The bottom icon row: weather for the destination date, a route link and distance, an attached link, a notes button (opens the full card) and an actual check-in button.
- On a phone (touch screen): tapping the ⚠ icon or the small icons opens a short explanation. Tapping the card itself opens editing.
Editing a record
The editing card is divided into sections:
- Location card details: destination, alias (a short label shown in the column, filled in automatically when you verify), information about the place (shown in the i icon), “Copy from origin”.
- Arrival card details: origin, arrival method, start and end times, “Crosses midnight” and the stay duration at the destination.
- Booking details: a booking link, a location link, a flight number (for flights), cost and currency (₪ $ € £), “Requires an entry ticket” and “Ticket purchased”.
- Notes of your own, and files and photos: up to 10 photos and 5 files per record. To keep them in the cloud you need to be signed in.
- Travel journal details: a personal rating and a personal experience (free text). They are not shown in the main table, but they appear in the travel journal.
Times, colours and times after midnight
The colour of a time field tells you where the value came from:
- Green: calculated automatically from the route and the chosen method. A time calculated backwards from the end time has its own explanation.
- Blue: inherited from the previous record’s arrival time.
- Gold: pulled from real flight data by flight number. The field is locked; to edit it by hand, clear the flight number.
- No colour: entered by hand.
- Actual check-in: the “Check in” button confirms the actual time; you can update the end time and shift the later activities.
- A record that crosses midnight stays on the date it started. A time before 06:00 is shown in red to draw attention, and if it really is at night you tick “Crosses midnight”.
- A “sequence is not chronological” warning appears when the order in a day does not make sense, with “Sort by time”.
- Recalculate routes and times (Actions ← Management) clears the stored distance, duration and times and computes them again.
Places, maps and routes
Verifying places, distances, maps and weather.
Verifying a place with Google
In any origin or destination field on a record, typing starts a Google Places search. Picking from the list verifies the place, and then you get:
- A preview when you click the place icon: photos, a rating, opening hours and more details from Google.
- Automatic distance and travel time.
- A green tick before the place name, and a short alias that fills in by itself (you can change it).
- A place that has not been verified is shown as plain text only, without the extra details.
- You can also use the “Pick from map” tab: click a point on the map and confirm. There is also “Open a search in Google Maps”.
- If a search finds nothing in Hebrew, try the local or English name (for example “Fiumicino Airport”).
Verifying many places at once
- Under each day’s heading a line “N places not verified” appears, with a Verify places button.
- Before it starts you see a confirmation with the count: each place uses one search from the monthly allowance. You can stop midway, and a place that is not found stays for manual editing.
- Verification always starts from your click, never in the background. A generic name like “Lunch in Trastevere” counts as an activity, not a place, and is neither counted nor verified.
Distance and travel time
- When there is a verified origin and destination, the distance and time are calculated automatically for the arrival method you chose (walking, car, public transport and so on) and shown on the card. A “Calculate route” button calculates by hand.
- When the Google search allowance runs out, the app switches to a free search (OpenStreetMap) without a Google preview.
- Error messages explain what is missing: no origin is available (not even in the previous record), the origin or destination cannot be located, no route was found, or a network problem.
- Results are cached, so the same route is not counted again.
The day route and the trip map
- The “Route” button by the day heading opens one link in Google Maps with all the day’s stops in order (a point that repeats the previous one is dropped).
- Show overall trip route shows the whole trip on one map, without the flights.
- On a record you can open a place on the map or choose a place from the map.
In the Google Maps mobile app only the first two points may show from a web link. If that happens, open the link in the browser.
Weather
Every record with a verified destination shows the weather for its date, and it updates automatically. The forecast is available for about 16 days ahead (and for the recent past). Beyond that, or when the location was not recognised, “Forecast unavailable” is shown.
Place information, opening hours and warnings
- The i icon right after the place type shows short information (for example an area and a description). On a computer on hover, on touch on tap. Information the AI added is kept in the “About the place” field and not in your personal notes.
- Warnings in the card header: “Closed at the chosen time” (by opening hours from OpenStreetMap) and “Requires an entry ticket”. On touch, the ⚠ icon opens an explanation.
- Marking “Requires a ticket” and “Ticket purchased” feeds the alerts (see “Managing your trip”).
The map search allowance
A place search, a location verification or a route calculation that is not already cached counts once against the monthly allowance. A notice appears when you get close to it, and when it runs out the app carries on with the free search. The full picture is on the “My quotas” screen (see “Saving, cloud and sharing”).
Flights, hotels and transfers
Real flight data, managing flights and hotels, transfers and a rental car.
A flight on a record
- On a flight record you can enter a flight number (optional). If you do, the app pulls real flight data: departure time, landing time, terminal and gate, and that data prevails.
- After the pull, the fields are locked. To edit by hand, clear the flight number.
- A repeat pull for the same number is blocked (“data was already pulled”). Change the flight number to check again.
- If no data is found for the flight, a message appears and you can keep entering details by hand.
- A flight record also has “Do check-in” and “Flight checked in”, which feed the alerts.
Flight management
Actions ← Management ← Flight management lists every flight in the trip and refreshes them against real flight data.
- Each flight shows when it was last synced and when the next check is due, with a refresh button per row, or “Refresh eligible now” for all.
- To avoid overloading the service, near flights are checked once a day and farther ones once a week. A flight that is still waiting is marked.
- At the end you see a summary: how many were updated, how many unchanged and how many still waiting. A flight without a number is marked “No flight number”.
Hotel management
Actions ← Management ← Hotel management lists every hotel frame with its location verification status.
- “Manual search” lets you search for and pick the hotel’s exact location. The coordinates and the map link update in all of that hotel’s records together: check-in, check-out and the transfers.
- “Show on map” opens the hotel on the map.
- If the hotel name still looks temporary (like “Hotel 1”), a warning appears: it is worth entering the real name before verifying.
- A hotel frame also shows a summary (nights, attractions, restaurants and more).
Transfers and a rental car
- Transfers: in the wizard, ticking “Add a transfer record” creates a ride to and from the airport, and between hotels.
- Rental car: in a rental-car template a pick-up record (90 minutes) and a return record (60 minutes) are added at the destination airport, and every ride is marked as a rental car.
- You can change the arrival method of any record at any time, and the route and times are calculated again.
Booking and search
Searching flights, hotels, attractions and restaurants, and adding a restaurant to the trip.
The “Book flights, hotels, attractions” window
Actions ← Book flights, hotels, attractions gathers, in one place, search links at leading providers, based on the destination and dates in your trip.
- Choosing a city and dates (for hotels and attractions): the cities are the trip’s hotel frames, each with its own check-in and check-out dates.
- Choosing a flight: every flight in the trip, including domestic flights, by origin, destination and date.
- Categories: flights, hotels, attractions and tours, general travel sites, and maps and navigation. Each category has several providers.
- For flights you can also check an “estimated round-trip price” for the route.
- A provider marked with a green tick is a partner of MyTrip Builder: the link is an affiliate link, and we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. See the Terms of Use.
You can reach the same place from the website too, on the Bookings page.
Searching for restaurants
The booking window also has a Restaurants block: a regular Google Maps search link, with no call against your allowance.
- Where to search: a city in the trip, a place from the trip (a search around it) or your current location. The location is used only when you click, and is not saved or sent anywhere except in the link you open.
- What kind: local, breakfast, café, bar, pizza, sushi, steak, vegetarian and vegan, kosher, desserts, or free text. “Best rated” adds a rating-based search.
- Rating, price range and “open now” are set in Google Maps itself after it opens.
- There are also links to OpenTable and TheFork.
Adding a chosen restaurant to your trip
- Open the search link in Google Maps and choose a restaurant.
- Copy its name.
- Go back to the app and press “Add a restaurant to the trip”.
- Choose a day, a meal (lunch or dinner) and “After which record”. The default: lunch after whatever ends by 14:00, and dinner at the end of the day.
- Paste the name (the “Paste” button reads the clipboard only when you press it).
- Press “Add and verify” (a restaurant record and one verification, which uses one search from the allowance), or “Add without verifying”.
If the name is not found, the record stays unverified and a message explains. You can verify it later.
The AI assistant
Planning activities for chosen days, and questions about your trip.
Planning activities with AI
The sparkles button at the top of the screen, next to the alerts bell, opens the AI assistant. It appears only when the assistant is available to you. On the “Plan activities” tab:
- Which days: a list of the trip’s days. Choose up to 3 days. On a day that already has activities, the new ones are added after them.
- What to plan: the kind of plan (a full day, sights and attractions, food and markets, evening only), how many activities per day (default 5) and the start and end hours.
- Preferences: budget, interests and pace.
- Special requests: places you must include, and what to avoid.
- Press “Plan with AI”. The result is a draft, and nothing is added to your trip until you approve it.
In the draft every place is a row you can edit: name, minutes, description, delete, and drag to reorder (even between days). Each day has a “Start from” time. Next to each place you see the straight-line distance from the previous one. When it all looks right, press “Add to trip”.
What the AI does and does not do
- The AI gets a time window for each day (after check-in or the last record, up to the transfer or flight that closes the day) and the day of the week, and plans only what fits. In the evening it suggests only restaurants, bars, shows and walks.
- It groups a day’s activities in one area or nearby neighbourhoods, does not repeat a place on two days, and orders them so the route flows.
- It does not plan meals, because it cannot reliably pick a restaurant that can be found on a map. After “Add to trip” you can pick restaurants in a dedicated window (see “Adding a chosen restaurant to your trip”).
- The places are not verified. It does not check opening hours in real time. Always verify the place (with your click) and check before booking. Mistakes are possible.
- What is sent to the AI provider and what is kept is described in the Privacy Policy.
Asking about the trip
On the “Ask about the trip” tab you type a free question, for example “Is any day too busy?” or “What should I book in advance?”, and the AI answers based on your trip’s details.
The AI allowance and availability
- The assistant screen and the “My quotas” screen show this month’s usage, as a percentage or in tokens. The allowance resets every month, and the date is shown.
- When the allowance runs out, a message appears with the reset date. You can ask for more on the “My quotas” screen.
- If the assistant is not active at the moment, the button does not appear or a message says the service is unavailable.
Managing your trip
The Actions menu, files, expenses, reminders and alerts, the checklist and the summary.
File management
Actions ← Management ← File management shows every file and photo attached to the trip in a folder view.
- Filters: all, by belonging, images and documents. Sort by name, date or size. The “Trip records” folder groups files by record.
- Files uploaded anywhere in the app, such as in the checklist, appear here.
- An upload is saved to the cloud only when you are signed in. Without signing in the file is kept only temporarily. The limit: up to 10 photos and 5 files per record.
Expense management
Actions ← Management ← Expense management gathers every cost you entered in the trip.
- All expenses: a list of every record with a cost, including the “hotel booking cost” of hotel frames.
- Number of travelers: set how many travelers there are. Ticking “Multiply this expense by the number of travelers” next to an expense multiplies it, which is useful for per-person costs like a ticket. Do not tick an expense that already reflects the cost for a room or a family.
- A detailed summary and a grand total by category, in several currencies (₪ $ € £). Conversion uses a current rate when there is a connection, or an approximate rate when there is not.
Reminders and alerts
- Reminders and alerts (Actions ← Management): reminders are added automatically to flight and check-out records. Each reminder is calculated from its record’s time. You can switch it off, change how many hours before it appears, and set default rules by record type.
- The alerts bell at the top of the screen shows the trip’s alerts: pending, future and done. A reminder whose time has come appears there until you mark it “done”.
- Rule-based reminders (leave for the airport, arrival, boarding...) become “done” automatically 12 hours after their moment, so a flight that already happened does not stay red.
- Reminders in the “Tools” menu turns on browser notifications. The browser will ask for permission.
- A flight reminder shows the airport you depart from.
Planning progress
In the alerts bell and at the top of the “Reminders and alerts” page you see four counters of “done out of total”:
- Verifying places: places verified against the map.
- Defining flights: flights with an origin, destination, date, time, and a flight number or landing time.
- Defining hotels: hotels with a real name and dates.
- Planning daily routes: days that have at least one activity.
A completed item moves to “done”. A missing item becomes “pending” (and colours the bell) only in the two weeks before the trip, and red in the last three days. Until then it is “future”.
The pre-flight checklist, packing and shopping
Actions ← Pre-flight ← Pre-flight checklist.
- Categories: reservations, travel documents and other. Mark an item done, attach a document (except for packing items) and add new items.
- Flight packing and the shopping list are separate pages, reached from the main page.
- The progress bar at the top shows the completion percentage. The shopping list is not counted, and flight packing is capped at 30% of the total progress.
A full list of what to check before a trip: the trip planning checklist.
The trip summary
At the top of the trip and on hotel frames you see a summary: flights, hotels and nights, attractions, restaurants, average rating, flight kilometres, trip kilometres and walking kilometres, and the total cost.
Undo and redo
The “Undo last action” and “Redo” buttons at the top of the screen undo and restore changes in the trip.
Views, settings and emergency numbers
Four views, customising the table, and emergency numbers (SOS).
Four views
The Settings ← Views menu:
- Desktop: a full table with all the columns.
- Mobile: a full card for each record, suited to narrow screens.
- Flow: an abstract display of records as type icons connected by arrows, for a quick overview of the day’s structure.
- Today view: what is happening now and what comes next, with “Previous” and “Show more”.
Customising the table
- Manage columns (Settings ← General) lets you show and hide columns and add a column of your own.
- Drag the edge of a column header to change its width. There is a button to reset column widths.
- “Hide the top menu” and “Show the top menu” free up screen space.
- On a phone the header has two rows: logo, help, SOS and collapse on top, and actions, undo/redo, bell, AI and settings below. The user name and language are at the top of the “Settings” menu.
Emergency numbers (SOS)
The SOS button at the top of the screen opens the country’s emergency numbers:
- By your current location (only after you allow location access), or by today’s planned destination in the trip.
- General emergency, police, fire and ambulance, with a call button. If there are no specific numbers for the country, the common general emergency number (112) is shown.
- Hospitals nearby (when there is a connection).
The numbers are based on general information. It is worth confirming with local authorities and your foreign ministry before you travel.
Travel journals
Creating a journal, publishing it on the site, reading and importing a route.
Creating a travel journal
A travel journal is the story of the trip, built from your trip. Actions ← Generate travel journal opens a “Travel journal details” window:
- The travelers’ names, origin and destination countries, an overall experience of the trip and a cover photo (the first photo you upload).
- On every location record you can add a personal rating, a personal experience and photos (in the record’s editing).
- The journal shows the trip day by day, with a jump to a day, a route map, and a cost breakdown.
The full guide to travel journals, including what is inside them: the travel journal guide.
Publishing a journal on the site
At the end of the journal window, in the “Sharing” section, press “Share on site” (it requires signing in).
- Publishing is final: one journal per trip, and it cannot be deleted or replaced. A confirmation is shown before sending.
- The first five fields are required: country of origin, destination country, travelers’ names, overall experience and a cover photo.
- Only a full journal is published. The “Check travel journal” button shows what is missing. Currently: at least 3 days, 4 stops each day, an overall experience of 150 characters or more, 5 stops with personal impressions and a rating, a cover photo and unique content. The check in the app is the source.
- The author name: an option “Show my account name on the journal card” (off by default). Without it the journal is shown without a name.
- A published journal is public: anyone can see it and import its route. Publish only what you are comfortable sharing, and do not include details about others without their consent.
- The “Published journals” list shows the trip name and the publishing date.
Reading in the gallery and on a journal page
- The travel journals gallery on the site: filter by city, budget, trip type and complexity, sort (newest, most liked, most imported, most commented) and “Show more”.
- On every card: comments, how many travelers imported the route, likes (for signed-in users), sharing and “Import route”. Journals by verified creators are marked.
- On a journal page: a collapsed “Short travel journal” menu hides parts (arrival cards, route images, check-in, check-out, transfers) and a “Show summary” button. You can comment, share and report.
Importing a route from a travel journal
- On a journal card in the gallery, or on the journal page, press “Import route”.
- The app opens with an import window showing how many days and places will be copied.
- Confirm, and a new trip is created, marked “Based on a travel journal”.
- What is copied: the order and number of days, place names, types, arrival methods, times, stay durations and route, and the name and city of hotels.
- What is never copied: costs, personal notes, photos, flight and booking details, travelers’ names and real dates. You choose the dates yourself.
- There is a monthly allowance for imports (shown in “My quotas”).
Troubleshooting and FAQ
What to do when something does not work the way you expected.
The trip was not saved
- Not signed in: without signing in the trip is not saved anywhere and is lost when you close the page. Sign in with Google.
- You reached the trip limit: the current trip is not saved to the cloud until you delete an existing trip. It stays “dirty”, and within 60 seconds of the deletion it is saved.
- “Saving failed”: check your internet connection. The app tries again by itself.
- The “Saved HH:MM” bubble at the bottom of the screen confirms every successful save.
A place is not found when verifying
- Try the local or English name (for example “Fiumicino Airport”, not a transliteration).
- Use the “Pick from map” tab and mark the point.
- A generic name like “Lunch in Trastevere” is an activity and not a place, so it is not verified.
- If Google Places is unavailable or the allowance ran out, the app tries a backup search (OpenStreetMap). Try a more precise wording.
The times look wrong
- Check the time colour: green is calculated, blue inherited from the previous one, gold from a real flight, no colour entered by hand.
- A red time before 06:00 is only a flag for attention. If it really is at night, tick “Crosses midnight”.
- A record’s stay affects the start time of the next record, not of the record itself.
- Press “Sort by time” if the order in a day is not chronological, and “Recalculate routes and times” after heavy editing.
- Times are local time everywhere. The app does not convert time zones automatically.
No distance or route
- “No origin available”: there is no origin on the record and no destination on the previous record. Enter or verify an origin.
- “Cannot locate the origin/destination”: verify the place (choose from Google’s suggestions or from the map).
- “No route found”: change the arrival method, for example to a car rather than walking between continents.
- A network error: try again, or use “Recalculate routes and times”.
I cannot edit the trip
- A sample trip: it opens read-only. Sign in and build a trip of your own, or load a template.
- A trip shared as view only: editing is blocked. Ask the trip’s owner for an edit link.
- A trip shared for editing or as a group: you need to sign in with Google.
- The link is not valid: the owner may have cancelled the sharing.
Uploading files or photos fails
- Not signed in: the file is kept only temporarily. Sign in so it is saved to the cloud.
- Over the limit: up to 10 photos and 5 files per record. Extra files are not uploaded, and the message says how many.
- A general error: try again. Uploaded files appear in “File management”.
Using a phone
- Switch to the Mobile view (Settings ← Views) for cards suited to a narrow screen.
- Press “Hide the top menu” to free up space.
- On a touch screen, explanations open on tap (the ⚠ icon, the time, the weather, the i icon).
- Sign-in and language are in the “Settings” menu.
Contact and feedback

- What is new: Updates and the beta page.

Still need help?
Write to mytripbuilder@gmail.com and say what you were trying to do, what happened and what you expected, or send the short feedback form. In the app, open the Actions menu and choose “Send feedback” to start an email with your app version filled in. Support is run by one person, so replies are not instant.
