What Is MyTrip Builder? A Trip Planner Explained

Updated September 29, 2026 · 5 min read

MyTrip Builder is a trip-planning app for trips with more than one stop. It turns flights, hotels, attractions, restaurants and transfers into a daily itinerary with real distances and arrival times, in one place that you can save and share. This page explains what it does, who it is for and, just as important, what it does not do.

In short: MyTrip Builder is a web app that builds a day-by-day trip itinerary with real distances and travel times between stops, and keeps flights, hotels, costs, notes and files in one place.

What MyTrip Builder is

MyTrip Builder is a web application for planning trips. You describe a trip, or let the Trip Wizard set up its skeleton, and then fill each day with stops: points of interest, restaurants, hotels and transfers. For every stop the app calculates the distance and travel time from the previous one, using walking, driving or public transit, and the times flow through the rest of the day.

It is built for people who would otherwise juggle a map, a spreadsheet and a chat group. The trip, its costs, its notes and its files live in one structure that you can read day by day.

How a trip is built

A trip is made of frames and record cards. Frames are the containers: the whole trip, each hotel, each flight leg. Record cards are the individual items inside them: an activity, a ride, a stay. Frames can be nested and whole days can be moved between them.

  1. Start a trip. Create it from scratch, or use the Trip Wizard to set up the basic details, flights and hotels, with airport and hotel-to-hotel transfers added for you.
  2. Add stops. Add places with their locations, choose how you will get there and let the app calculate the distance and time.
  3. Save and share. The trip auto-saves to the cloud, and you can share it as a link: view only, full editing or group mode.

What it does

  • Real travel times: distance and duration between stops by walking, driving or public transit, refreshed for the whole trip with one click.
  • Flights and hotels: a dedicated screen for every flight, which can be refreshed from live flight data by flight number, and one for every hotel.
  • Budget: a cost and currency on every record, rolled up into totals per frame and for the whole trip in the currency you choose.
  • Pre-trip checklist: reservations, travel documents and extras, each with progress tracking and attached documents.
  • Reminders and weather: default reminders such as online check-in, and a weather forecast on the record card.
  • Notes, ratings and files: notes, a personal rating and attached photos or files on every record.
  • Maps: import a multi-stop Google Maps route, verify locations and open a stop or a whole day in Google Maps with one click.
  • SOS page: the local emergency numbers for the country you are in.
  • Travel journals: turn a finished trip into a day-by-day travel journal, share it or publish it to the shared journals gallery, where other travelers can read, like and comment on it and, if the author allows, import its route.

There is also an AI mode in the Trip Wizard, where you describe your budget, interests and pace and get a starting skeleton that you can edit, and a chat assistant for suggestions while you edit.

Who it is for

Anyone planning a trip with more than one stop: families, couples, solo travelers and group planners, as well as people who plan trips for others, such as travel agents and tour guides. A single weekend in one city works too, but the value grows with the number of moving parts.

Languages and devices

The app and this site work in English and Hebrew, including right-to-left layout for Hebrew, and they work on mobile as well as on desktop.

What it is not: a booking service

MyTrip Builder does not sell flights, hotels or tickets itself. The Bookings page links out to recommended partner sites where you can search flights, hotels and attractions, and some of those links are affiliate links. You book with the partner, then keep the confirmation with the trip.

Saving, sharing and journals

When you are signed in, every trip is saved to your account automatically as a record of its own. You can share a trip as a link that anyone can open: view only, full editing or group mode. After the trip, the app can generate a travel journal (a trip diary) from your notes and ratings, and you can choose to publish it to the public shared journals. A published journal is public, so it is worth leaving out private details. The full story, from writing a journal to importing a route from someone else’s, is in the travel journal guide.
